New Year, New Chair, New Meeting Date!

Jan 12, 2023

As the new chair of the Chippewa County Democrats, I wanted to take a moment to say a few words and introduce myself. I would like to first say thank you for your support and trust you have given in electing me to take on such an important role in the community. I am genuinely humbled by the outpouring of encouragement I have received since the election at the December meeting. I truly look forward to the journey ahead of us.

I was born and raised in Chippewa County, Jim Falls to be exact, and am proud to call it my home. I love our community and intend to do what I can to help leave it better than when I became a part of it. But like so many important goals it truly needs to be a team effort, and I cannot think of another team I would rather be a part of. I have worked in private sector business for 20+ years mainly in supply chain management. I am also an active volunteer in the community, taking on such roles over the years as United Way volunteer, Junior Achievement classroom volunteer, Junior Achievement Board of Directors member, as well as being an active volunteer with various groups in Jim Falls area such as Sacred Heart Church and the Lions Club. I also represent district 7 on the Chippewa County Board of Supervisors, and I am currently in my third term.

I have been active with the Chippewa County Democrats since the 2014 election cycle. And in the 8 years following I have worked with numerous campaigns during both the April and November election cycles. I have worn many hats in my campaigning experience; candidate, door knocking volunteer, phone banking volunteer, kitchen cabinet advisor, coach, and fund raiser. I want to take that experience and provide value in any way I can to the Party and any future candidates so we can continue towards the goal of electing Democrats up and down the ballot.

I do acknowledge that there are challenges ahead of us. But as a team there is nothing we cannot do. I look forward to continuing to build off of all the existing experience of our rockstar cast of party volunteers we have in this area, try to engage new volunteers, expand community outreach, and to move forward towards our shared goals together. Take care and I look forward to meeting and working with every one of you.
